I Finally got the boat in and started charters this weekend, the Striper fishing on the South Jetty was best I’ve seen in years. I took 2 friends out for a shake down trip on Thursday evening, we got out around 7:00PM. We had live spot as bait, the action was non stop, every drift we had double and triple hook ups. most fish came in just under 28″. All the Stripers had good girth and gave a great fight. We boated over 30 fish and had a non-stop bite till 10:00pm. We did manage to get one keeper that measured 29″.

29 incher from the south jetty on Thursday
The charter on Friday was with Doug Cooper, and Paul “The Bass Master” Goodwin, or Frederick, Md. and Tres Kelly of Emmitsburg, Md. These guys have fished with me for several years now and this was the best trip yet with 50 plus boated Stripers. We hit the water at 7:00am with 80 spot on the boat, the tide was still rolling out hard, which isn’t my favorite time to be fishing for Stripers on the South Jetty but the very first drift we had a double hook up. The action continued like this the whole trip, we actually had to go back to the dock and get 50 more spot because we ran out. We ended up with 4 nice keepers and lost several nice fish right at the boat. So we ended up going through 130 spot with maybe only 10 of those being stuck on the bottom and breaking off, so you do the math, that’s 120 bites or hook ups, It doesn’t get any better then that. This is all light tackle fishing with 16 lb. line on all the reels, so it’s definitely a blast for most anglers.

I’m booking trips for Stripers right now, as long as the bite is hot, so give me a call at 410-289-(FISH) 3474 or my cell at 410-430-5436 and lets talk fishing.
